Cincinnati, Ohio Paul Brown Stadium…The Cincinnati Bengals debuted the 2010 Season with a bang, defeating the Cleveland Browns 42-20. Rookie HB Leron James debut was explosive as he turned in a rookie record performance of 18 rushes for 269 yards and 3 tds. He also caught 2  passes for 26 yards and a TD. Leron’s first carry in the BDML was a 77 yard outside run for a TD. Coach Williams had this to say “I thought it was the most impressive debut I have ever seen in any game ever. He will be a force in the BDML for years to come. Simply Amazing.”

The Bengals spent the offseason retooling the Offensive line and revamping the Offense and Defensive schemes. ” All players came into the stadium and were handed “Fight Back” t shirts for the season opener. “We were very unhappy over the entire season last year and simply will not settle for anything less than the division title this year. We have acquired the players we think will make us competitive and we are going to take it one game at a time.” Williams said.

The Cincinnati Bengals have opened up Training Camp and the hitting has started. After a quiet offseason as compared to other years, the Bengals have hit the field and a few surprises have emerged. The Bengals were extremely happy in the draft with StingRey Maluaga and DE Micheal Johnson have played better than expected and are competing for starting jobs. However the biggest surprise of camp has been the speed and nastiness of the 5th round Draft Pick Bernard Scott. Almost every run he has surprised the coaching staff with his speed, toughness and agility. He has broken TD run after TD run and is now being considered for a starting role over incumbent Cedric Benson. So far the race to starting job is up for grabs and it is to close to call at this point.
