Frank Gore Introduced in Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers front office must be thinking about baseball rather than football. Here they are swinging for the fences on a deal that shipped out Ryan Grant, Al Harris, and their 2nd round pick in next year’s draft. But they certainly hit a grand slam in bringing one of the most dynamic halfbacks in football to the Packers organization.

Frank Gore has officially landed in Green Bay. Coach Mike McCarthy was seen arriving at Green Bay’s Austin Straubel Airport to pick up Gore in a black SUV. Gore then demanded that McCarthy let him drive, as a way of showing he would be driving this team towards a championship. McCarthy promptly got his fat ass out of the car and allowed Frank Gore to do as he pleased. No one is going to tell the 2-time Pro Bowler what to do. Gore and McCarthy drove back to the Green Bay training facility to get Frank acclimated to the Green Bay offense. He immediately punched Aaron Rodgers in the face and called him a little bitch, and told him to go inside and make him a sandwich. It appears as if the dynamics of this Green Bay offense are about to change.

Frank then suited up for his first Green Bay practice, and immediately injured the entire practice squad defense. GM SilverwingSMV was seen clapping and laughing as the practice defense was carted off the field. He was truly happy to be gaining a runningback of this caliber. After an hour-long workout, Gore quickly headed into the city of Green Bay and to the mayor’s office. He held the mayor ransom, demanding that it be Frank Gore Day “anyday I want it to be, homie”. The Mayor hastily signed the documents and gave him a key to the city before fainting. Before Gore left City Hall, he asked to know which house was the richest in Green Bay. He drove his car over to that house and quickly evicted the family living there. The owner of the house, George A. Marshall, was not mad in the slightest. “Hell, Frank Gore is beast. If anyone is allowed to kick me outta my home and make me live on the street, it’s that guy. GO PACK!”.

We attempted to catch up with Gore to ask him a few questions about his new life in Green Bay, but anytime we tried to run after him, we were easily trucked aside, stiff armed, then left in the dust. We expect anyone who tries to stop this freak of nature to be met with the same.

Week 4 of the BDML is upon us, and teams are starting to buckle down for the long season ahead. Let’s take a look at who’s leading the pack this week:
The Top 10
| The BDML Top 10 | |||
![]() |
1. Atlanta Falcons (3-0) Last Week: 1
| The Falcons pulled out a win in Carolina on a last second field goal to win, keep their loss column empty, and keep their top spot on the Power Rankings. Michael Turner was the key to victory with 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. How long can the Dirty Birds keep the streak going? | |||
| Next Game: BYE | |||
![]() |
2. Arizona Cardinals (3-0) Last Week: 2
| Behind the arm of Matt Leinart, The Cards cruised to a 28-8 win over their division rival Seahawks, and keep their place at number 2 this week. Leinart was 18 for 20 for 233 yards and 3 TD’s, all to different receivers. The Cardinal defense also allowed only field goals. But can the Cards soar above the Falcons on our list? | |||
| Next Game: 49ers (1-2) | |||
![]() |
3. Baltimore Ravens (3-0) Last Week: 4 |
||
| The Ravens take advantage of the Jets bye week and a win over their division rival Bengals to move up to number 3 on our list. Joe Flacco threw for 348 yards in the win, and hit Derrick Mason 5 times for 104 yards. Todd Heap even had a 92 yard TD catch. It looks like the top of the Power Rankings so far is one giant nest of birds. | |||
| Next Game: Browns (1-2) |
|||
![]() |
4. New York Giants (3-0) Last Week: 5
| For the Giants game last week against Detroit, the TV guide should have listed it as The Brandon Trammell Show. The rookie had 111 yards and 3 TD’s, and it looks like Eli Manning has a new threat on the field to work with. Speaking of Eli,he threw for 268 yards, and he had 4 TD passes. The G-men are rising to the top of the NFC East out of the gate. Can they stay there? | |||
| Next Game: Redskins (1-2) | |||
![]() |
5. New York Jets (2-0) Last Week: 3 |
||
| The Jets didn’t see any action last week on the bye, so they take a little tumble down our list. But we didn’t forget about them. They take on the Steelers this week, looking to improve their standing in the AFC East. We’ll keep them here at 5 for now. Can Mark Sanchez help them creep back up the list? | |||
| Next Game: Steelers (1-1) | |||
![]() |
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| Jacksonville makes their first appearance on our list after beating the Oakland Raiders with a late field goal. Jarrett Dillard had 101 yards receiving, and proved to be David Garrard’s favorite target. Maurice Jones-Drew also provided scoring, with 2 TD’s on the ground and one through the air. Now that the Jags have made it to the rankings, will they stay? | |||
| Next Game: BYE | |||
![]() |
7. Chicago Bears (3-0) Last Week: 8 |
||
| The Bears held strong at home against the Bills, keeping pace with the Vikings in the NFC North. Jay Cutler continued to add to his strong start to the season, throwing for 197 yards and 3 TD’s. Devin Hester also proved he’s still got the kick returner skills, racing 96 yards for a TD near the end of the 2nd quarter. Can Coach Lovie Smith get his Bears back into Super Bowl form? | |||
| Next Game: BYE | |||
![]() |
8. Minnesota Vikings (3-0) Last Week: 9 |
||
| The Viking D continued to hold strong this past week, allowing no points on offense to the Dolphins all game. Miami’s only touchdown came on a kick return. The Vikes found their offense through Sidney Rice’s capable hands, as he hauled in 9 catches for 152 yards and a score. Can they take advantage of a Bears bye week to pull ahead in the NFC North? | |||
| Next Game: Packers (1-2) |
|||
![]() |
9. Oakland Raiders (2-1) Last Week: 6 |
||
| The Raiders lost a heartbreaker to the Jags, giving up a last minute field goal to give them their first loss of the season. But since it was so close, they only slip down to 9 this week. Rookie Jack English had another strong game, passing for 332 yards, with 4 TD’s and 1 pick. Darren McFadden also had 155 yards on the ground and a score, but ultimately the defense could not hold. Can the Raiders redeem themselves this week against the Chargers? | |||
| Next Game: Chargers (1-1) | |||
![]() |
10. Houston Texans (2-1) Last Week: NA
| The Texans are newcomers to the list, and with the way they dismantled the Tennessee Titans, we had to give them the final spot. Rookie Dane Morrow didn’t put up big numbers (129 yards, 9/17 passing) but managed the game well, got 2 TD passes, and didn’t turn the ball over. The real player of the game was Jacques Reeves on defense, who picked off 2 Kerry Collins passes, and returned one to the house. Watch out for the Texans in the AFC South. | |||
| Next Game: Cowboys (0-3) | |||
Bigby’s 4 picks, 3 TD’s put away Vikings at Lambeau
April 1, 2010 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles
Facing another home loss, the Packers knew they had to turn up the heat in the 4th. Atari Bigby turned it up to a whole new level.

Atari Bigby tied the single game record for INT’s in a game with 4, returning 3 for TD’s as the Packers stole a win in the 4th quarter by a score of 42 -20 over the NFC North rival Vikings. To go along with Bigby’s big day, Aaron Rodgers rebounded from shoddy performances to complete 18 of 27 passes for 262 yards, 2 TD’s and just 1 INT. The Packers came into the 4th quarter down by a score of 20 to 8. The Vikings had held the Green Bay offense in check for most of the game and were looking to lock up the game in the 4th. That’s when Rodgers stepped up to the plate, leading Green Bay on a march into Vikings territory. There, Rodgers would find Donald Driver on a short route across the middle for a 2 yard strike. The Packers would miss the 2 point conversion. But after a Viking punt on their ensuing possession, Rodgers would find Greg Jennings on a 68 yard play action strike to put the Packers ahead 21-20. With 4 and a half minutes remaining, Atari Bigby entered into beast mode.

Bigby picked off an errant Tarvaris Jackson throw intended for TE Jim Kleinsasser, and darted downfield, breaking several tackles before finding the end zone for his first TD of the night. But he wasn’t done just yet. On the next Viking possession, Bigby intended to storm down the middle on a SS Blitz, but instead found the ball coming his way down the middle. Using quick instincts, Bigby picked off the ball yet again and raced past the Viking offensive lineman for his second TD of the day. But this still was not enough of a game for the man named Atari. On the next Minnesota possession, he would once again take advantage of a poor throw by Tarvaris Jackson and raced his 3rd INT of the game down a wide open sideline for the score. In the closing seconds, he would add a meaningless pick in the endzone for his 4th of the game, tying a single game record held by Deltha O’ Neal of the Cincinnati Bengals. Bigby attributes his inspired play to watching the offense make some inspired plays of their own minutes before “Once we took that one point lead at the start of the 3rd, we came together as a defense and vowed not to let our offense down. We didn’t want their work to be in vain, and we definitely didn’t want to let the Vikings come into our house and push us around. So, I decided to push back. The ball and I just had a great relationship out there today.”

The Vikings had been in control of the game until the 4th. Adrian Peterson was finding holes through rushing and receiving and was proving to be the X factor for 3 quarters. Tarvaris Jackson’s inaccuracy proved to be the downfall for the Vikings. He finished 17 for 31 with 2 TD’s and 4 picks. The Viking defense had been holding the Packers in check for most of the game. Good pressure was applied by Kevin Williams and Jared Allen, who had kept Aaron Rodgers from making good passes to start the game. The game simply boiled down to poor throws made by Jackson.

The Packers will take on the Lions for the 2nd time this season in Detroit next week, while the Vikings will take their bye week next week and have a chance to prepare for their next game in 2 weeks against the Lions. We wish luck to Curtgreen24 and the Vikings, and are looking forward to our second matchup Week 7 in Minnesota!
Packers take savage beating from Saints; fall to 1-2
March 29, 2010 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles
Someone in the stadium actually called 911; that’s how bad of a beating the Packers took in Sunday’s game vs. the Saints.

The Green Bay Packers lost their second straight game at Lambeau, and the Saints took full advantage of poor defensive coverage, en route to a 44-15 stomping. Drew Brees completed 15 of 21 passes, finishing with 301 yards, 3 TD’s and no picks. Reggie Bush had over 100 yards receiving, most of it coming on a 82 yard screen play touchdown. From the opening whistle, the Saints were simply better at every position on the field.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers managed to play worse than he did last game. He finished going 15 for 27 for 243, 1 TD and 4 interceptions. He also got tackled on a terrible safety in the 2nd quarter, which set up a Devery Henderson TD after the safety punt. But the blame can’t be squarely laid on Rodgers. Ryan Grant could not get the running game going for a 2nd straight game, leading many to believe his days in Green Bay may be numbered. Coach SilverwingSMV was simply at a loss for words after the game. “I really can’t even begin to explain what happened out on that field today. We kept getting bad holding calls and other penalties, we couldn’t get our feet down in bounds, we couldn’t take advantage of fumbles……We just really didn’t want to go out there and win this one today. If we want to keep pace in a tough division, we cannot continue to play this poorly on both sides of the ball. That’s all I’ve got.” The coach then abruptly stormed off the podium, taking no further questions.

The Saints (1-2) will be back at their dome to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a divisional game next week. The Packers (1-2) will have yet another game at home against their bitter rival, the Minnesota Vikings. The Packers wish luck to coach Sanitarium for the season, and enjoyed the game (just didn’t enjoy the outcome lol).
Week 3 Top 10 BDML Power Rankings

The BDML Power Rankings had taken a break for a few weeks, but we are back to bring you the class of the league. Here are the teams who are getting off to a great start to the BDML season:
The Top 10
| The BDML Top 10 | |||
![]() |
1. Atlanta Falcons (2-0) Last Week: N/A
| The Falcons came out of the gates with a burst, getting 2 divisional wins over the Panthers and Saints. This gives them an early lead in the AFC South. Michael Turner is running hard and rookie Jamarion Bellows is leading the way for the receivers, as he put up 141 yards and 2 TD’s againt the Saints last week. Can the Falcons continue this impressive run? | |||
| Next Game: Panthers (0-2) | |||
![]() |
2. Arizona Cardinals (2-0) Last Week: N/A
| The Cardinals are starting out their season right. With Matt Leinart now taking the helm, many appeared concerned. But so far, Leinart has 3 TD passes and no picks. On the receiving end of all 3 TD passes has been Larry Fitzgerald, who is always a threat to score. Beanie Wells has also been a strong factor on offense. Will the Cards continue roost on top of the NFC West? | |||
| Next Game: Seahawks (1-1) | |||
![]() |
3. New York Jets (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| The Jets have been the class of the AFC so far. With 76 pts for them, and only 23 scored against them, the Jets are proving defense wins games. Shonn Greene is bulldozing through defenses, and Mark Sanchez is taking care of the ball. After giving the Bills a 49-6 beatdown, it’s hard to see the Jets going anywhere but up. | |||
| Next Game: Week 4 vs. Steelers (1-1) |
|||
![]() |
4. Baltimore Ravens (2-0) Last Week: NA
| The ravenous Ravens have gotten two wins against the top teams of the last decade (Patriots and Steelers), and are hungry for more. Rookie WR DJ Crosby has emerged as a favorite target of Joe Flacco, giving the Ravens their much needed threat at the position. The only concern going forward is the amount of points the normally tough Raven D has given up. Will they continue to outscore their opponent? | |||
| Next Game: Bengals (2-0) | |||
![]() |
5. New York Giants (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| The G-Men are sitting pretty on top of the normally tenacious NFC East. Eli Manning has been efficient in his passes, and it’s surprisingly been Ahmad Bradshaw leading the rushing attack for the Giants, not Brandon Jacobs. With two division wins under their belt, including a stomping of the Cowboys, the G-men look to continue their winning ways with a trip to Detroit next week. | |||
| Next Game: Lions (1-1) | |||
![]() |
6. Oakland Raiders (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| The city of Oakland appears to be catching “Jack English fever”. The rookie QB is leading the league in passing yards and TD’s currently, and outdueled Peyton Manning last week. The Raiders D is also getting good production out of OLB Trevor Scott, who has sacked the QB 3 times so far. Who knew the Raiders would be leading the AFC West already? | |||
| Next Game: Jaguars (2-0) | |||
![]() |
7. Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| The Bengals aren’t letting the Ravens just run away with a division lead. They too are sitting at 2-0, and next week will determine who comes away with an early division lead. Keith Rivers is leading the Bengals D, sacking the QB twice already and looking for more. Cedric Benson is also finding the endzone through both ground and air, and appears to be the major contributor on offense. | |||
| Next Game: Ravens (2-0) | |||
![]() |
8. Chicago Bears (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| Up in the north, the Bears are out of hibernation and ready to roll. Matt Forte has been a dual threat in rushing and receiving in both games so far, being the major contributor towards both wins for the Bears. Greg Olsen has also been a sure target for Jay Cutler. Can the Bears continue their success against the Buffalo Bills at home? | |||
| Next Game: Bills (0-2) |
|||
![]() |
9. Minnesota Vikings (2-0) Last Week: NA |
||
| The Vikings D are making one thing clear so far: Points will be hard to come by against us. With only 27 pts allowed through 2 games, the Vikings are putting themselves in great position to win every week. And that’s without Adrian Peterson running at his best yet. Watch out for the Vikes to climb the rankings at this pace. | |||
| Next Game: Dolphins (0-2) | |||
![]() |
10. St. Louis Rams (1-1) Last Week: NA
| The Rams lost their Week 1 match to the Bucs by a mere 1 point, so they are as close to 2-0 as they can possibly be. Steven Jackson is off to a great start this season, taking some of the pressure off rookie QB Kelly James. But James is off to a decent start himself, throwing 4 TD’s to only 1 INT. The real question is: Will the defense keep them in enough games? | |||
| Next Game: Broncos (0-2) |

Packers succumb to strong Bears D, lose 26-20
March 25, 2010 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles
After the Packers D gave the Lambeau faithful something to cheer about in Week 1, Aaron Rodgers gave them a game they’d much rather forget in Week 2.

Rodgers threw 3 picks, was sacked twice, and completed less than half of his passes in a 26-20 letdown to the Bears at Lambeau. A-Rod never seemed to find a good rhythm throughout the game, overthrowing his targets on multiple occasions. His worst pick came when he tried to find TE Jermichael Finley down the left side of the field, only to telegraph the pass to a waiting and hungry Shawn Merriman. Ryan Grant would find the endzone twice for the Packers, but was limited to only 22 yards for the game. The Packers D played well enough to keep the team in the game, but the offense ultimately could not respond when they needed to.

The Bears, however, came out very prepared for the Packers. Matt Forte had a field day on the vaunted Packers D, rushing 27 times for 84 yards and a score. He also hauled in 5 catches for 35 yards. Greg Olsen damaged the Pack down the middle of the field all game as well, hauling in 7 catches for 81 yards. Jay Cutler, who is normally criticized for errant throws, allowed one INT which was returned for a TD by Nick Collins. But other than that one gaffe, Cutler took excellent care of the ball, completing 18 out of 24 attempted passes. Robbie Gould also was an integral part of the scoring, cashing in on 4 FG’s to help secure the victory.
Coach SilverwingSMV was disappointed in his offense’s performance, but believes there is time for improvement so early in the season. “Aaron was not the only one to blame out on that field today. We had many opportunities on both sides of the ball to get things done and we simply allowed the Bears to take advantage of our mistakes. Aaron did make some bad passes today, there is no denying that. But I would not place the blame on him, we lost this one as a team. I take responsibility for not having my team well prepared enough. Hats off to the Bears, they were the better team today.”

The Packers will look to rebound next week against the defending champs, the New Orleans Saints, while the Bears head back home to square off with the Buffalo Bills. We wish luck to Coach Phil03, and look forward to a rematch at Soldier Field during Week 13.
Week 1: Packers D slays Lions for opening day victory
March 17, 2010 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles
GREEN BAY GAZETTE — On Opening Day of the BDML, the Packers didn’t want to let down their Lambeau faithful at home.

The D ensured they would get to go home happy.
The Packers D turned up the heat on Matthew Stafford, recording 5 sacks and forcing 5 Detroit turnovers — 3 of which were returned for touchdowns — en route to a 38-17 win at home. And which Packer had the most INT’s on the day? Why it was Johnny Jolly of course.

Johnny Jolly?
Yes, defensive end Johnny Jolly picked off two of the errant throws by Stafford. Teammates on the sidelines got a big kick out of seeing the big man make such agile plays. But the big plays came from veteran Packers’ Nick Barnett, Charles Woodson, and Cullen Jenkins, who all would find the end zone throughout the day. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers’ switch to a 3-4 seems to be paying off well in season 2 since the switch to the new defensive scheme.
Aaron Rodgers had a rather pedestrian day, going 9 for 18 for 167 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 pick. Donald Driver picked up the majority of the yards through the air with 97 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Grant also ran for 91 yards on 14 carries, running well off the right side behind newly acquired RG Bobbie Williams and veteran tackle Mark Tauscher.
Meanwhile, the Lions offense struggled throughout the game. Matthew Stafford could not find a rhythm, or time to throw throughout the game. He finished 22 of 32 for 317 yards, no touchdowns and 4 picks. Calvin Johnson, however, had a great day as he hauled in 8 catches for 159 yards.
The Packers stay at Lambeau next week to take on another division rival, the Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the Lions head back home to Detroit to host New England in their home opener.
Week 10: Packers hold off Jets to move to 5-4
March 1, 2010 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles

All Coach SilverwingSMV wanted in his first week as the new head coach of the Packers, was a win.
Aaron Rodgers and company would deliver in a 34-27 win over the Jets at Lambeau Field.
Rodgers went 17 of 21 for 297 yards, with 4 TD throws and 1 interception. But perhaps his biggest completion of the day was a 68 yard strike to Greg Jennings to put pack up for good with 1:03 left. Rodgers was brave to throw into one on one coverage by Darrell Revis, but Jennings was able to make the catch, evade Revis’ tackle, then head down the sidelines for the winning score. Jennings ended the day with 3 catches for 127 yards.
The Packer’s run game was also efficiently led by rookie Joey Keller, who ran for 104 yards, taking some carries away from starter Ryan Grant who gained only 50 yards. Keller had an electrifying 66 yard dash in the 1st quarter, which would lead to a 11 yard receiving touchdown for the rookie halfback.
“I just wanted to come out and give my team all I had today. The line picked up blocks perfectly and I made plays when I had to. Hopefully, they feel more confident to look my way in the future.” Keller said in a post-game interview. It was the rookie’s first 100+ yard game in the NFL.
The loss was tough for the Jets, as Mark Sanchez also played a great game. He finished the day going 21 of 30 for 319 yards and 2 TD’s. His favorite target was clearly Terrell Owens who finished with 7 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Many who watched the game wondered if time simply ran out on the Jets. After the score by Greg Jennings, the Jets would march downfield well in only 53 seconds, only to run out of time at the Packers 8 yard line.
To the Jets, this a tale of one that simply slipped away.

Editor’s Note: Truly great game played by SMXtreme. Classy guy, played sim, and it was a close close match from start to finish. Hope to play him again and play many more similar games in this league.
Opportunistic Defense Puts away Bears

Under the leadership of new head coach Kirby Smart, the Green Bay Packers now move to 2-0 after beating the rival Bears on the road. The 29 point defferential was the biggest win of the year and moves the team to 8-5. More importantly, the win gives the Packers sole possession of first place in the NFC North.
In just 2 games under Smart, the Packers have an impressive +5 turnover margin with 8 interceptions in cluding two from CB Al Harris and new starting MLB, Desmond Bishop. The Packers have also managed to hold their two opponents to just 4 conversions on 19 3rd downs.
Maybe the most impressive player in these two games has been Mason Crosby, hitting FGs of 49, 60, 53, 31, 18, 37, 32, and 24.
the 3-10 Pittsburgh Steelers will host the hot Packers next week in a game that may clinch the division or bump the Packers into a first round playoff bye. Though the Seahawks have home field advantage all but clinched, week 17 will still be a huge game in the NFC as the Hawks come to Lambeau field.
Packers Eyeing Playoffs
November 22, 2009 by Packers
Filed under Team Articles
After dropping three straight, the Packers chose to let go of coach Mike McCarthy. The move was most surprising because the Packers were controlling the NFC North. The rival Bears and Vikings were just able to pull within a tie for the division lead while the Lions were only one game behind while putting a 3 game streak together. In McCarthy’s fourth season with the Packers, the team went a combine 33-26 while reaching the NFC Championship Game just two years ago. The lack of consistency was too much for the organization and they decided to part ways.
In replacement, the team decided to look outside the organization and interviewed multiple candidates before finding ex-Georgia Bulldog Kirby Smart. Smart has spent the last two seasons as assistant coach and defensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Before that, Smart spent a season with the Miami Dolphins as an assistant coach. Smart has followed Nick Saban around for multiple years including with the LSU Tigers, Miami Dolphins and now the Crimson Tide and is believed ready to take over a head coaching posisiton at the age of 33. With Smart, the Packers will do two things, protect the ball and force turnovers. Winning the turnover battles will lead to victory.
Under the leadership of Smart, the Packers opened up at home against the league best, undefeated 11-0 Baltimore Ravens. While holding the longest active winstreak and being the only undefeated team remaining in the league, the Ravens appeared to be the favorite. QB Aaron Rodgers was able to out up two scores in the air while HBs Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson found the endzone on the ground. The biggest stat of the game was the TO margin of +3 for GB. The Packers did not turn the ball over while Al Harris, Nick Barnett, and Desmond Bishop each snagged INTs of their own. The interception by Bishop could not have been bigger as the Ravens were driving into the red zone with a minute to go in the game, only down 3.
Looking ahead, the Packers split each series with Minnesota and Detroit and will face the Bears next week with a chane for a sweep. If the Packers continue to win, the tiebreakers wont mean anything. Along with Chicago, the remainder of the season involes traveling to Pittsburgh and Arizona while hosting the NFC leading Seahawks.
