GOTW- WEEK 6

April 8, 2010 by Cardinals
Filed under Game of the Week

The week 6 BDML holds a few games that are going to seem interesting on paper, but that won’t turn out to be that close when they actually play the games. The best match-up in the week 6 picks and predictions has to be the Baltimore Ravens heading to Atlanta to play the Falcons.

1 Ravens(philyphil) V Falcons(jukester)

Atlanta will have to be firing on all cylinders against the Ravens defense, and this game could really test Ryan and Turner. The Steelers though, are trying to prove that they belong among the league’s best teams, and are going to do so in the warm weather of Atlanta. Look For Atlanta to go to their most prized possesion that is rookie sensation Jamarion Bellows who leads the league with 528 yrds off 20 receptions. Meanwhile the Ravens may have a chance to try their new toy in WR Steve Smith should be a shootout in ATL

Prediction ravens 31 falcons 44

2 JETS(warcal40) V Bears(Phil03)

Jay cutler is a top  QB along with Manning, Brady, Bree Rodgers and he is in elite company. His team unfortunately is not. With no true weapont to deliver the ball to the Bears may struggle however they may have some exrta umph in their hits come sunday after a fustrating loss to Giants.  The Jets under  a new owner will get tough test in his first match. Look for the Bears to be stingy on defense and the Jets to pound the Rock as the Giants did with success last week

Predicition Jets 10 Bears 21

BDML Season 2 GOTW:Week 5

April 5, 2010 by Cardinals
Filed under Game of the Week

After 4 weeks of pure BDML awesomeness the top teams in the league are beginning to emerge.  The season is still young and we have some intense match ups in week 5!

NOTE: In my games of the week I will also be predicting the winners and team records wont be deciding factor in who makes the top GOTW division rivals are good.

1. BEARS(phil03) VS GIANTS(danpristner)

In a match up of undefeated NFC foes the Bears will take on the Giants look for the Bears to focus on stopping the the Beast that is Brandon Jacobs and the Giants look to slow down the Bears offensive attack.  The question is will the Bears aging defense be able to keep up with young explosive wide receivers like Hakeem Knicks and Steve Smith should be a good one!

PREDICTION-GIANTS offense overpowers the Chicago Bears. Giants 31 Bears 20

2. BENGALS(jedicouncil) V RAVENS(phillyphil)

Division foes in this one. The Ravens look to have the advantage as they have a nice receiving core and solid running game and have just blasted through the first 4 weeks of the season, However the Bengals are no slouch going 3-1 so far look for the Bengal to come out firing in this one

Predicition Bengals 35 Ravens 31

3. Cardinals V Raiders

Are the Cardinal for real ? 4-0 thus for into the season they have yet to be tested by a winning team, the Raiders on the other hand have faced a much tougher schedule, Will Matt Leinart be able to continue his recent success or will the young rookie QB out show the vet and defeat the Cards and in their four game winning streak?

Prediction- Raiders edge it out in a defensive battle 17-10

other key match ups

Packers V Lions

Its silverwing vs todasco both teams 2-2 cant afford to fall too far behind the bears who will prevail? Although the lions have impressed the packer are far too deep to let the Lions take this one

Prediction Packers win

That should do it for this week, WEEK 6 GOTW will include more player stats and league leaders.

The BDML Season 2 GotW: Week 1

March 16, 2010 by Texans
Filed under Game of the Week

Another kick arse season of The BDML is finally upon us and this week owners will be able to test out their new teams and skills as they begin to get used to their new team. Who will be the rising stars this year? Who will run over everyone and rise up to become Super Bowl Champions this season?

For those who are new to The BDML, Game of the Week consists of the Top 5 games that are most anticipated to watch and be played during that week.

1.) Texans (0-0; BigRed8592) @ Raiders (0-0; Pacalon)

The Texans made a huge deal in trading QB Matt Schaub to the Denver Broncos and then drafting rookie QB Dane Morrow. On the other hand, the Raiders drafted top prospect QB Jack English and hope that this QB will not be a bust like JaMarcus Russell turned out to be. Both rookies first games and will most likely be matches we can’t wait to see in the future of the BDML.

2.) Bills (0-0; Bigtymer0084) @ Vikings (0-0; curtgreen24)

Both teams had some bad history with QBs and only the Vikings finally had their wish fulfilled making the Super Bowl with the help of QB Brett Favre, however falling short to the Colts. With no more Favre, the Vikings will have to go back and rely on QB Tarvaris Jackson again. The Bills on the other hand made a huge deal with the Titans and were able to sign QB Vince Young, who just recently been improving himself. Expect to see some picks and a lot of running.

3.) Dolphins (0-0; Details) @ Colts (0-0; hasemanjs)

The Colts won the Super Bowl, good for them. They signed FB Eric Pollard in the 1st Round and will help improve their running with future HoF QB Peyton Manning. The Dolphins fell short making the playoffs however their QB Chad Henne looks to have improved over the offseason and feels that the Dolphins might finally have a passing game. If the trade goes through with the Vikings, the Dolphins will have a nice solid receivers to throw to along with Bess and Hartline.

4.) Jets (0-0; SMXtreme) @ Browns (0-0; T Bird)

The Jets focused on improving their defense this season signing rookies De’Adrian Virges, Karlos Dillon, and Jelian Harris along with FA signing Antonio Cromartie to help out on the other side with Revis. Browns signed top rookie HB LeRon James to lend a hand to QB Brady Quinn. However, Quinn is still questionable if he is even staying in Cleveland, or newly signed QB Jake Delhomme will be able to get things rolling for the Browns.

5.) Redskins (0-0; Gouki) @ Giants (0-0; danpriestner)

The Giants were on a fiesta this offseason trading to everyone, even their own division rival to acquire DT Albert Haynesworth. With Steve Smith now on the Redskins, the Giants looking to have a solid D-Line now, Jason Campbell may finally have a overall good passing season along with WR Santana Moss.

Week 9: For the Division Lead

February 21, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

We are now officially at the half way point of season 2 and after last weeks battles, this week is looking to break a tie breaker in the AFC East and a few battles for a chance at the Wild Card. Which team will rise to glory and rule over their rivals this week?

1.) Jets (SMXtreme; 6-1) @ Patriots (mlucky666; 6-1)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

“The” Game of the Week folks. The Jets and Patriots are both on top of their games and looking to dethrone one another to take the crown for the AFC East.  Both teams are 100% healthy and this should be one for the ages.

2.) Raiders (aPerfectC1rcle0; 4-3) @ Chargers (Pacalon; 3-4)

Sunday, 4:05 PM

The Chiefs (am I saying this right?) are leading the AFC West over both the Raiders are the Chargers by at least 2-3 games. This game will most likely decide which team will have a chance at the title, or sit down eating their popcorn and watching the Playoffs from home.

3.) Ravens (sidboney24; 6-2) @ Bengals (jedicouncil65; 2-5)

Monday, 9:00 PM

Well, the Bengals are looking like they might miss the playoffs, but they might have a chance. After upsetting the Bucs 24-21 last week, the Ravens will have to battle a Bengals team that is currently on a 1-game winning streak. It won’t be an easy game. Why? Because it’s Monday night, and they don’t disappoint.

4.) Bears (curtgreen24; 2-4) @ Giants (danpriestner; 4-3)

Sunday, 4:15 PM

You won’t believe this but even with how sloppy the Bears are looking with their current record, they still have a shot. The Giants, will an average thus far, also have a shot, but have to take down a new Bears owner and must somehow reach for the division against a hot 6-1 Cowboys AND Eagles.

5.) Vikings (BigRed8592; 1-7) @ Packers (Oshiomogho; 4-3)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

All right, so this doesn’t look like one of the greatest games. Vikings, who constantly give up over 30+ points per game, against a Packers team, who once started out hot but is now trailing by division leader Detriot Lions. With the division leader at 4-3, both teams will have to win every single game for the remainder of the season if they want a shot at the playoffs.

Honorable Mention: Panthers (sqeak5; 6-1) @ Falcons (djacobson126; 1-6)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

This game just looks lop-sided. The Panthers, who are just on fire with a 6-1 record, up against an ice cold Falcons team that had a win back on Week 6. But hey, Vick is returning to Atlanta. Expect to see him have a performance that he’ll never forget. I’m still not counting out the Falcons though, I want an upset!

Week 8: Top Seeds Duke it Out

February 16, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

We’re reaching the halfway point of the season and the playoff picture looks like it is finally showing. Many top rated teams are going at each other this week and few teams are looking to get must-wins, or you can bet that they are out of it!

1.) Seahawks (ol THE DREAM lo; 5-1) @ Panthers (sqeak5; 5-1)

Sunday, 4:15PM

If you don’t get this game because you don’t live in the region, you better get some DirectTV or the NFL Network or something: watch it on a live webshow if you have to.  Both of these teams are coming off strong wins taking down the Bucs and the Packers. This is probably going to be the battle to take the top seed in the NFC this postseason (not unless the Cowboys or Eagles have anything to say about that).

2.) Jets (SMXtreme; 5-1) @ Steelers (steelerguy26; 5-2)

Sunday, 4:15 PM

The other game you should be watching around the same time as the Seattle, Carolina game is this one. The Jets, in probably the closest division yet, is just barely leading the Patriots due to points scored. On the other hand, the Steelers are neck and neck with rival Ravens and both of these teams are looking to take the AFC North. However, the Jets and Steelers are going to duke it out to see which team will be leading their division after this week or the other trailing in the Wild Card spot.

3.)  Dolphins (Mastershake jr3; 3-3) @ Patriots (mlucky666; 5-1)

Sunday. 1:00 PM

The Jets, as well as other teams in the AFC, are praying that the Dolphins get the job done against the Patriots this week. Even for the Dolphin’s sake. If they end up losing, it’s going to be very tough climbing back up with the division leaders they have.

4.) Chargers (Pacalon; 3-3) @ Colts (hasemanjs; 2-4)

Sunday, 4:05 PM

These two teams finally collide to show which QB is best in their new uniforms. Peyton Manning, wearing the thunder stripes, is looking relatively well so far and progressing better than the Colts and Philip Rivers. This is going to be one of those classic duels and expect to see 30+ points scored on both sides of the field.

5.) Lions (dead eater001; 4-3) @ Vikings (1-6; BigRed8592)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

You may be thinking “What?”.  Honestly, as the Vikings owner, I am too. Vikings haven’t won a single game since Week 1 of the season and in their last meeting the Lions were able to easily take out the Vikings. The issue here is that WR Percy Harvin is out a month and the Vikings playoff hopes are slowly slipping away. With AP finally making some moves, Stafford is looking to make another amazing performance yet again to break the Viking’s hope of the playoffs.

Honorable Mention: Eagles (CPU; 5-1) @ Titans (Treym3; 5-1)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

There’s no doubt about it that this is one of the must watch games of the week, just that with lacking a new owner, the Eagles are looking for a beating taking on the hot Tennessee Titans, who look to start another winning streak after taking down the Jaguars.

Week 4: A Tale of Undefeated and Defeated

January 26, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

Week 3 was probably one of the best weeks in the BDML and had games where neither side wanted to give in! With some teams losing by a nail biter, they are looking to get things rolling early in this season if they want any playoff hopes.

1. Chargers (1-2; Pacalon) @ Raiders (2-1; aPerfectC1rcle0)

Sunday, 1:00PM

The Chargers were FINALLY able to get things going last week after beating the Jaguars last week scoring 14pts per Quarter! On the other hand, division rival Raiders are FINALLY changing their recent past and beginning to upset top teams such as the Bengals. Look for this to be a tight game.

2. Jets (3-0; CBat28) @ Jaguars (2-1; DipSET x ii N C)

Tuesday, 9:00PM

The Jets, currently undefeated, are leading the AFC East, however leading every single division rival by only one game! The Jaguars, coming off a tough loss to the Chargers, are looking to make a rebound and somehow manage to catch up to the Titans in the division.

3. Saints (2-1; sYsTeMheaD) @ Ravens (2-1;  sidboney24)

Sunday, 4:05PM

The Saints! Are Coming to Baltimore! Getting their second win of the season with Week 2 POTW Jay Cutler, the Baltimore Ravens must shake off that recent loss to the Steelers and get things going yet again against a very tough Saints offense.

4. Packers (3-0; Oshiomoghio) @ Lions (0-3; dead eater001)

Sunday, 1:00PM

Nothing like a division battle against an undefeated team and a team whos experienced nothing but defeats. The Lions will want to make a fast meal against the cheeseheads early. Losing this game shows a very good chance of missing the playoffs this year.

5. 49ers (0-3; DyersEve003) @ Panthers (2-0; sqeak5)

Sunday, 1:00PM

The 49ers are having, yet again, a rough start this season with a surprising Panthers team trailing the division due to a week off. Hopefully, the 49ers will have a chance to take down a Panthers team that got time to relax early in the season.

Honorable Mention: Colts (0-2; CPU) @ Texans (0-3; Epic Kraft)

Sunday, 4:05PM

Congratulations, one of you guys….er, guy or CPU, will be getting a win this week! Will probably be a boost for the new Texans owner to lead them back to Super Bowl glory!

Week 3: It’s Time for Must-Wins

January 20, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

Probably every single game last week came down to the wire (except like one or two) and now we are seeing a clearer picture of the playoffs. This week doesn’t have any battles between undefeateds, but it does have some games where teams are desperately looking for a win.

1. Steelers (1-1; steelerguy26) @ Ravens (2-0; sidboney24)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

You know when these two teams meet, you are going to have a battle of defense! Both coming off impressive wins against the Dolphins and the Falcons, these two teams are looking to see which will come up leading the AFC North early in the season.

2. Chiefs (2-0; Jukster818) @ Dolphins (1-1; WRFS Lips)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

The Chiefs are the shock of the BDML right now as they somehow managed to beat the Raiders AND the Colts (a CPU Colts) in their first two games! Coming off a lost, the Dolphins are looking to bounce back and prove to see if the Chiefs are really all that!

3. Saints (1-1; sYsTeMheaD) @ Falcons (0-2;  djacobson126)

Monday, 8:20 PM

The Carolina Panthers have taken the early lead in the running for the NFC South. If any of these teams want any chance of making it (at least a Wild Card), they’ll have to make a big impact this game to show everyone that they mean business.

4. Bengals (1-1; jedicouncil05) @ Raiders (1-1; aPerfectC1rcle0)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

One coming off a blowout, the other, coming off a blowout loss, both teams can feel the division lead in their grasps and a win for either of them can improve their ranking in their divisions. With the Steelers-Ravens going at it, this is a must-win for the Bengals.

5. Chargers (0-2; Pacalon) @ Jaguars (2-0; DipSET x ii NC)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

Neither of these teams are probably expected to be where they are right now. The Chargers, dead last in the AFC West, and the Jaguars, leading by PF and PA in the AFC South. With fellow 2-0 rival Titans taking on the CPU Texans team that is missing their owner after winning the Super Bowl, the Jaguars will have to take on a Chargers team that needs this win, or they may be in trouble early.

Honorable Mention: Vikings (1-1; BigRed8592) @ Bills (1-1; GoDxTOPPER)

Sunday, 4:05 PM

Both of these teams have wins against a CPU Bears team. They’ll both want to make a move in the division in this game if they want any chance of the playoffs.

Week 2: The Rust is Officially Off

January 15, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

The season has officially kicked off and teams are beginning to show their true colors. The first game had quite a few shockers and many lop sided games. How will this week work out?

1. Packers (Oshiomogho) @ Vikings (BigRed8592)

Monday, 8:20 PM

Both the cheeseheads and the purple warriors were showing no defense at all last games. With both QBs throwing over 200yds, it should be an exciting game and many TDs being scored.

2. Titans (Treym3) @ Chargers (Pacalon)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

The Titans completely shut down new QB Philip Rivers and the Indianpolis Colts. Now, they must go to San Diego and go up against some what effective Peyton Manning after his first start with the bolts. Expect to see more English this time around.

3.  Buccaneers (Bigtymer0084) @ Seahawks (oI THE DREAM Io)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

The Bucs shocked us all last week as they just cruised through the Falcons with Felix Jones. It won’t be an easy task though against the defending NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks as they are coming off a dominate performance over the 49ers.

4. Ravens (sidboney24) @ Dolphins (WRSF Lips)

Sunday, 4:05 PM

The Dolphins just destroyed the Bills in their last home stand and Joey Porter was all over them. Throwing 4 picks last week, Joe Flacco will have to be more accurate this time around as the Dolphins have a very dominating defense and are looking to take the AFC East.

5. Panthers (sqeak5) @ Cardinals (techmadden)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

Both teams are coming off upsets as the Panthers took down the Saints and the Cardinals took out the Chargers. Both QBs are still looking as if they are in their prime and are looking to take another stand up in Arizona this weekend.

Honorable Mention: Giants (Pepperklink) @ Cowboys (jdecoudres)

Sunday, 1:00 PM

Both teams took out division rivals last week and they are looking to decide which team will reign on top of the NFC East.

Week 1: Must Watch Games

January 11, 2010 by Vikings
Filed under Game of the Week

The beginning of the 2nd season of the BDML is upon us and the season is starting off with anticipation in the air, and the feeling of revenge from teams whom onced struggled. Who will get injured? Who will be the big players this year in the season? If you want to see something exciting, these 5 games are what you should be watching this weekend….or Monday!

1. Titans (treym3) @ Colts (xheartless09x)

Sunday 4:05 PM

Jack English will be making his BDML debut against the Manningless Colts. How well will new QB Philip Rivers fair with a completely new team?

2. Bears (Markt4) @ Vikings (BigRed8592)

Sunday 1:00 PM

The rivalry is renewed and both teams are seeing new faces. Both teams have new QBs: Bears QB Drew Brees and Vikings QB Chad Henne. BDML HB Player of the Year Adrian Peterson will also be back and ready to defend his title and hope to become the Offensive Player of the Year. However, the Bears tough D won’t give him his wish so easily.

3. Falcons (djacobson126) @ Buccaneers (Bigtymer0084)

Sunday 1:00 PM

The Buccaneers were just all over the place this postseason and have a completely new team. They will finally get to prove what they are made of against 3rd year QB Matt Ryan and the returning Atlanta Falcons.

4. Patriots @ Jets

Monday 9:00 PM

The reigning BDML Offensive Player of the Year  (Tom Brady) vs the reigning BDML Defensive Player of the Year (Bart Scott) and it’s on a Monday. What other game will you be watching then?

5. 49ers (DyersEve003) @ Seahawks (oI THE DREAM Io)

Sunday 4:05 PM

The defending losers of the Super Bowl, Seattle Seahawks, are looking to make another run for the Lombardi Trophy and newly added HB Brian Westbrook will sure help this offense make it 2 straight trips. However, they will have to go up against 2nd year WR Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers, whom want to make a push to the playoffs this season.

Honorable Mention: Jaguars (Dipset x ii N C) @ Texans (Andyman33)

Sunday 4:15 PM

It’s the defending Super Bowl Champs…..if it wasn’t for the Seahawks being ranked #1 in the BDML Power Rankings, this game would for sure top it.
