TAMBA HALI

HALI CELEBRATES AFTER PICKING HIS 3RD PASS AGAINST OAKLAND

You would have thought(with the red and white, yellow jersey)that he played for KC but someone forgot to give that memo to the Raiders and QB Jack English.  Hali picked off not 1 not 2 but 3 passes and really set the Oakland offense back and Hali showed the league that just maybe you do not want to throw the ball underneath where he is patrolling. Lets Congratulate Hali for this weeks DPOTW.

DEVIN HESTER

HESTER REALLY SHOWED HIS ASS IN THIS ONE WITH 2TD REC OFF 2 CATCHES AND 1 RET TD OFF FG MISS

Devin Hester is this weeks OPOTW after catching just 2 passes for 106yrds and 2td’s and 1fg miss and returning for 107yrd for a TD. Hester single handily scored 21 unanswered points   by his self in the 3rd quarter alone to put this game out of reach, and also showed the league why he is the most dangerous man on special teams know to date so lets congratulate him on this weeks award.

BRANDON JACOBS

JACOBS RUNNING ALL OVER BEARS DEFENDERS

Brandon Jacobs is this weeks 5 OPOTW with a beast like performance against the Chicago Bears. Jacobs could not be stopped by anyone on the Bears team all game. Jacobs had 26At 142YDS 4TDs and just milked the clock all game long so congratulate Jacobs on this top notch performance.

BRIAN ORAKPO

ORAKPO PUMPS UP THE CROWD AFTER RECORDING HIS 2ND SACK

This Weeks 5 DPOTW is LB Brian Orakpo recording 2SCK and 5 Tckl against the Rams. Orakpo showed the league that he is a force to be reckon with and even at his LB position he still can rush the QB and also take him down. Congratulate Orakpo for this award this week.

Atari Bigby

BIGBY DANCES IN THE ENDZONE AFTER HIS 4TH INT AND 3RD TD RAN BACK

Atari Bigby AKA Dread Head is Weeks 4 DPOTW with a dominating performance against  the Vikings and single handling beating the Vikings with 4INT 6TACK 3TD. Bigby was all over the field in this one and showed the League that maybe you need to account for where he is at all times on the field so lets Congratulate Bigby for this weeks Defensive performance.

Matt Leinart

LEINART PASSES FOR 1 OF HIS 5TD PASSES AGAINST 49ERS

Matt Leinart! Who? That’s right he’s Weeks 4 OPOTW. Yea even a guy like Leinart has days like this like mama says “Everybody has days like this, their will be days like this” 15 for 17 234yds 5TD in win against tuff 49ers D. The guy seemed like he could not miss, and showed us that he is a big time QB out of USC. Lets Congratulate Leinart for this weeks Offensive Performance.

Stephen Jackson – HB – St. Louis Rams

Jackson running for a few of his many yards on the ground

Rams running back Stephen Jackson helped his team take down the undefeated Seahawks with another big game. He had 30 rushes for 143 yards and a touchdown, and also had 2 catches for 22 yards and another touchdown. Although this was the Rams first win, it could be the start of the turn around St. Louis needs. Stephen Jackson is the star of this team, and the leader of the offense. If they want a shot at the playoffs, he will nedd to keepup his good play.

Elbert Mack – CB – Tennessee Titans

Mack was all smiles after his big game

Relatively unknown cornerback Elbert Mack had a breakout game. He was all over the field with 4 tackles, an interceptions, a sack, and a forced fumble. Although Mack spends most of his time on the bench as a back-up, he had something to prove against the Raiders. I think we will see a lot more of Elbert Mack on the field for one of the best teams in the league, the Titans.

Kellen Winslow Jr – TE – St. Louis Rams

Kellen

Winslow Jr talking to reporters after the game

Kellen Winslow Jr was traded to the St. Louis Rams last week, and boy did he make a statement in his debut. He would catch two touchdown’s and have over 1oo yards receiving, including a 52 yard dash to help keep his team in the game. Although his big effort wasn’t enough as the Rams lost to Cardinals by 10 points. The Rams are looking to quit their losing ways, and it seems that Winslow is the key to doing that.

Gary Feazell – OLB – New Orleans Saints

Rookie linebacker Gary Feazell was a huge part of holding the Ravens to only 3 points. Feazell recorded 5 tackles, one of them a sack, along with 2 interceptions and a fumble. It looks like drafting him was a very wise choice, as he has been a lot of help this year for the Saints defense. I have a feeling that this won’t be the last time be see him as the defensive player of the week.

Honorable Mentions

DeAngelo Williams -  HB – Carolina Panthers – 16 ATT, 191 YDS, 2 TDS, REC, 4 YDS

Ben Roethlisberger – QB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Big Ben throwing a pass after rolling out of the pocket

Big Ben was a huge part in his team’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Although it took him a while to get a pass in the end zone, he would end up throwing 4 of them. He didn’t score until nearly the end of the third quarter, buit after he did he would continue his ways. His biggest play though was with just under a minute left with the game tied, he would throw a 5e yard bomb to Mike Wallace to take the lead. Ben would end up going 14 for 23 for 340 yards and the 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. Having a very good rating of 137.2, it no surprise that Ben is the offensive player of the week.

Shaun Phillips – OLB – San Diego Chargers

Phillips smiling after leading his defense to victory

Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips was the key to their defense in the wim over the Jaguars. He recorded 5 tackles along with a forced fumble while the Jags were in the red zone and an interception after reading a screen play perfectly. Phillips is sometimes overlooked on the defense because of how well Shawn Merriman plays, but it’s very clear that he is a big reason why the Chargers are doing well. Expect good things to continue for Phillips and the Chargers defense.

Honorable Mentions

Peyton Manning – QB – San Diego Chargers – 11/18 182 YDS 5 TDS

Chaz Schilens – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers – 5 REC 156 YDS 2 TDS

Week 2 BDML Players Of The Week

Jay Cutler – QB – New Orleans Saints

Cutler rolls out in the pocket.

Jay Cutler led his team to victory last Sunday against the San Fransisco 49ers. He went 22/26 for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns. His QB rating was 131.9, and while known for having problem with interceptions in the past, he threw none on Sunday. Cutler led the Saints to their first victory of the year(1-1). Some people have questioned the decision to trade former QB Drew Brees for Cutler, but if he continues to play like he did Sunday, I’m sure Saints fan will be happy.

Jon Beason – MLB – Carolina Panthers

Beason running through the opposition as he runs back an interception

The Carolina Panthers faced what looked to be the first loss of the season after getting behind early, but MLB Jon Beason would have none of it. He got 3 interceptions, returning one back for a touchdown. He only had one solo tackle, but 6 assist to a tackle. Beason was the Panthers first round pick in 2007, and now it’s clear that he’s the leader of this defense. The Panthers are 2-0 and after resting for week 3 with a bye, you can be sure Jon will be ready to make some more big plays in week 4

Week 1 BDML Players of the Week

The kickoff to the 2010 BDML season was very exciting. Lots of high scores, and lots of players putting up some good numbers. But here are the top players, you’re offensive and defensive players of the week.

Felix Jones – HB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Felix Jones in practice a few days before his big performance

Jones made his debut with the Bucs in a big way. He ran for an incredible 253 yards on only 10 carries. He also had 4 touchdown’s, all over 45 yards(49, 47, 64, 65), which is something that hardly ever happens. His performance against the Falcons will go down in history as one of the greatest rushing games of all time. His counterpart Cedric Benson also lit up Atlanta’s defense, running for almost 150 yards including a 93 dash near the end of the game. The Bucs changed a lot of things around this off season, and apparently for the better. Defenses are praying that this was a fluke day for the Tampa Bay rushing attack, but only time will tell.

Joey Porter – OLB – Miami Dolphins

Joey Porter had a lot to smile about after his outstanding day.

Joey Porter led his team in basically every stat in the Dolphins win over the Buffalo Bills. He recorded 6 tackles, 4 of those being sacks, along with an interception and 2 forced fumbles. The Dolphins defense gave a big play for a touchdown early in the game, but this must have motivated them because it would be the only points put up by the Bills. Causing 3 turnovers in one game is always huge, as is getting 4 sacks, but rarely do you see a performance like this from just one player. If Porter continues to play this way, he could lead his defense and the Miami Dolphins to big things.

Honorable Mentions

Leron James – HB – Cincinnati Bengals 18 ATT, 269 YDS, 3 TDS, 2 REC, 26 YDS TD

Ronnie Brown – HB – Miami Dolphins 32 ATT, 204 YDS, 4 TDS

Joe Bennet – CB – Pittsburgh Steelers 3 TACK, 2 INT
