Week 4 of the BDML is upon us, and teams are starting to buckle down for the long season ahead. Let’s take a look at who’s leading the pack this week:

The Top 10

The BDML Top 10
1. Atlanta Falcons (3-0) Last Week: 1
The Falcons pulled out a win in Carolina on a last second field goal to win, keep their loss column empty, and keep their top spot on the Power Rankings. Michael Turner was the key to victory with 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. How long can the Dirty Birds keep the streak going?
Next Game: BYE
2. Arizona Cardinals (3-0) Last Week: 2
Behind the arm of Matt Leinart, The Cards cruised to a 28-8 win over their division rival Seahawks, and keep their place at number 2 this week. Leinart was 18 for 20 for 233 yards and 3 TD’s, all to different receivers. The Cardinal defense also allowed only field goals. But can the Cards soar above the Falcons on our list?
Next Game: 49ers (1-2)
3. Baltimore Ravens (3-0) Last Week: 4
The Ravens take advantage of the Jets bye week and a win over their division rival Bengals to move up to number 3 on our list. Joe Flacco threw for 348 yards in the win, and hit Derrick Mason 5 times for 104 yards. Todd Heap even had a 92 yard TD catch. It looks like the top of the Power Rankings so far is one giant nest of birds.
Next Game: Browns (1-2)
4. New York Giants (3-0) Last Week: 5
For the Giants game last week against Detroit, the TV guide should have listed it as The Brandon Trammell Show. The rookie had 111 yards and 3 TD’s, and it looks like Eli Manning has a new threat on the field to work with. Speaking of Eli,he threw for 268 yards, and he had 4 TD passes. The G-men are rising to the top of the NFC East out of the gate. Can they stay there?
Next Game: Redskins (1-2)
5. New York Jets (2-0) Last Week: 3
The Jets didn’t see any action last week on the bye, so they take a little tumble down our list. But we didn’t forget about them. They take on the Steelers this week, looking to improve their standing in the AFC East. We’ll keep them here at 5 for now. Can Mark Sanchez help them creep back up the list?
Next Game: Steelers (1-1)
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-0) Last Week: NA
Jacksonville makes their first appearance on our list after beating the Oakland Raiders with a late field goal. Jarrett Dillard had 101 yards receiving, and proved to be David Garrard’s favorite target. Maurice Jones-Drew also provided scoring, with 2 TD’s on the ground and one through the air. Now that the Jags have made it to the rankings, will they stay?
Next Game: BYE
7. Chicago Bears (3-0) Last Week: 8
The Bears held strong at home against the Bills, keeping pace with the Vikings in the NFC North. Jay Cutler continued to add to his strong start to the season, throwing for 197 yards and 3 TD’s. Devin Hester also proved he’s still got the kick returner skills, racing 96 yards for a TD near the end of the 2nd quarter. Can Coach Lovie Smith get his Bears back into Super Bowl form?
Next Game: BYE
8. Minnesota Vikings (3-0) Last Week: 9
The Viking D continued to hold strong this past week, allowing no points on offense to the Dolphins all game. Miami’s only touchdown came on a kick return. The Vikes found their offense through Sidney Rice’s capable hands, as he hauled in 9 catches for 152 yards and a score. Can they take advantage of a Bears bye week to pull ahead in the NFC North?
Next Game: Packers (1-2)
9. Oakland Raiders (2-1) Last Week: 6
The Raiders lost a heartbreaker to the Jags, giving up a last minute field goal to give them their first loss of the season. But since it was so close, they only slip down to 9 this week. Rookie Jack English had another strong game, passing for 332 yards, with 4 TD’s and 1 pick. Darren McFadden also had 155 yards on the ground and a score, but ultimately the defense could not hold. Can the Raiders redeem themselves this week against the Chargers?
Next Game: Chargers (1-1)
10. Houston Texans (2-1) Last Week: NA
The Texans are newcomers to the list, and with the way they dismantled the Tennessee Titans, we had to give them the final spot. Rookie Dane Morrow didn’t put up big numbers (129 yards, 9/17 passing) but managed the game well, got 2 TD passes, and didn’t turn the ball over. The real player of the game was Jacques Reeves on defense, who picked off 2 Kerry Collins passes, and returned one to the house. Watch out for the Texans in the AFC South.
Next Game: Cowboys (0-3)

Week 3 Top 10 BDML Power Rankings

March 27, 2010 by Packers

The BDML Power Rankings had taken a break for a few weeks, but we are back to bring you the class of the league. Here are the teams who are getting off to a great start to the BDML season:

The Top 10

The BDML Top 10
1. Atlanta Falcons (2-0) Last Week: N/A
The Falcons came out of the gates with a burst, getting 2 divisional wins over the Panthers and Saints. This gives them an early lead in the AFC South. Michael Turner is running hard and rookie Jamarion Bellows is leading the way for the receivers, as he put up 141 yards and 2 TD’s againt the Saints last week. Can the Falcons continue this impressive run?
Next Game: Panthers (0-2)
2. Arizona Cardinals (2-0) Last Week: N/A
The Cardinals are starting out their season right. With Matt Leinart now taking the helm, many appeared concerned. But so far, Leinart has 3 TD passes and no picks. On the receiving end of all 3 TD passes has been Larry Fitzgerald, who is always a threat to score. Beanie Wells has also been a strong factor on offense. Will the Cards continue roost on top of the NFC West?
Next Game: Seahawks (1-1)
3. New York Jets (2-0) Last Week: NA
The Jets have been the class of the AFC so far. With 76 pts for them, and only 23 scored against them, the Jets are proving defense wins games. Shonn Greene is bulldozing through defenses, and Mark Sanchez is taking care of the ball. After giving the Bills a 49-6 beatdown, it’s hard to see the Jets going anywhere but up.
Next Game: Week 4 vs. Steelers (1-1)
4. Baltimore Ravens (2-0) Last Week: NA
The ravenous Ravens have gotten two wins against the top teams of the last decade (Patriots and Steelers), and are hungry for more. Rookie WR DJ Crosby has emerged as a favorite target of Joe Flacco, giving the Ravens their much needed threat at the position. The only concern going forward is the amount of points the normally tough Raven D has given up. Will they continue to outscore their opponent?
Next Game: Bengals (2-0)
5. New York Giants (2-0) Last Week: NA
The G-Men are sitting pretty on top of the normally tenacious NFC East. Eli Manning has been efficient in his passes, and it’s surprisingly been Ahmad Bradshaw leading the rushing attack for the Giants, not Brandon Jacobs. With two division wins under their belt, including a stomping of the Cowboys, the G-men look to continue their winning ways with a trip to Detroit next week.
Next Game: Lions (1-1)
6. Oakland Raiders (2-0) Last Week: NA
The city of Oakland appears to be catching “Jack English fever”. The rookie QB is leading the league in passing yards and TD’s currently, and outdueled Peyton Manning last week. The Raiders D is also getting good production out of OLB Trevor Scott, who has sacked the QB 3 times so far. Who knew the Raiders would be leading the AFC West already?
Next Game: Jaguars (2-0)
7. Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) Last Week: NA
The Bengals aren’t letting the Ravens just run away with a division lead. They too are sitting at 2-0, and next week will determine who comes away with an early division lead. Keith Rivers is leading the Bengals D, sacking the QB twice already and looking for more. Cedric Benson is also finding the endzone through both ground and air, and appears to be the major contributor on offense.
Next Game: Ravens (2-0)
8. Chicago Bears (2-0) Last Week: NA
Up in the north, the Bears are out of hibernation and ready to roll. Matt Forte has been a dual threat in rushing and receiving in both games so far, being the major contributor towards both wins for the Bears. Greg Olsen has also been a sure target for Jay Cutler. Can the Bears continue their success against the Buffalo Bills at home?
Next Game: Bills (0-2)
9. Minnesota Vikings (2-0) Last Week: NA
The Vikings D are making one thing clear so far: Points will be hard to come by against us. With only 27 pts allowed through 2 games, the Vikings are putting themselves in great position to win every week. And that’s without Adrian Peterson running at his best yet. Watch out for the Vikes to climb the rankings at this pace.
Next Game: Dolphins (0-2)
10. St. Louis Rams (1-1) Last Week: NA
The Rams lost their Week 1 match to the Bucs by a mere 1 point, so they are as close to 2-0 as they can possibly be. Steven Jackson is off to a great start this season, taking some of the pressure off rookie QB Kelly James. But James is off to a decent start himself, throwing 4 TD’s to only 1 INT. The real question is: Will the defense keep them in enough games?
Next Game: Broncos (0-2)

Week 7 Power Rankings (Top 10)

The BDML Top 10 Power Rankings – Week 7 Edition – Your team may be here now but to stay in the top 10 you will need to win and in the BDML any team can win on any given Sunday so good luck guys.

The BDML Top 10
1. Tennessee Titans (5-1) Last Week: 1
Titans continue to dominate as they destroyed the Jags 28-7. They have the most suffocating defense as they are the only team to allow under 100 points in the first 7 weeks of play. On the offensive side of the ball, Chris Johnson is the most explosive player in the league. Do the Titans even have a challenge this season?
Next Game: Eagles (5-1)
2. Carolina Panthers (5-1) Last Week: N/A
The Panthers storm into the top 10 with 3 wins in a row after beating their division rival, Bucs. With Michael Vick in charge, Andre “The beast” Johnson at receiver, and DeAngelo Williams at running back, this offense is explosive as they come. We will find out if the Panthers are for real after they play the defending NFC champ Seahawks this week.
Next Game: Seahawks (5-1)
3. Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) Last Week: 8
Coming off two huge wins against division rivals Broncos and Raiders, the Chiefs look like they are the real deal. Matt Cassel is the most effective passer in the league and the Chiefs defense is very oppurtunistic, along with a monster pass rush in Dwight Freeney and Tyson Jackson. Can the Chiefs actually give the Titans a challenge in the AFC?
Next Game: Texans (1-6)
4. New England Patriots (5-1) Last Week: 10
The Patriots have a great passing attack with veteran Tom Brady at the helm. They also have the second best defense in the league. Arguably the hottest team in the league with a 5 game winning streak moves them up to #4.
Next Game: Dolphins (3-3)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (5-1) Last Week: 9
The Eagles offense challenges the Panthers for the most explosive offense in the league. DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and LeSean McCoy are giving defensive coordinators nightmares. We’ll see if the Eagle’s firepower can burn the Titan’s #1 defense in the game of the week, it will be an exciting game.
Next Game: Titans (5-1)
6. Seattle Seahawks (5-1) Last Week: 6
The defending NFC champions’ loss to the horrible Rams (1-4) still have critics doubting them, but they rebounded with a great win over the strong Packers (4-2). Now we will see if the Seahawks are still the top class of the NFC when they take on the Panthers. Whoever wins this game is no doubt the best team in the NFC for right now.
Next Game: Panthers (5-1)
7. New York Jets (5-1) Last Week: 2
The Jets defense doesn’t look as good as it did in the first four weeks, but they still have the same players and can get back into form. Be sure to get your slide protections right when you play against the Jets! or expect your quarterback to be on his knees all game, the Jets love blitzing and so far it’s made them one of the more feared defenses in the league. We’ll see who the blitz kings are when they go to Pittsburgh and face the Steelers this week.
Next Game: Steelers (5-2)
8. New Orleans Saints (5-2) Last Week: 3
The Saints routed the Steelers last week. After destroying that great defense, the “WHO DAT” nation has enough firepower to hang with anybody.
Next Game: BYE week
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) Last Week: 5
The Steelers two losses have come against two really good teams in the Ravens and Saints. Sooner or later they have to beat a good team to prove that they’re really a threat in the AFC. They have a chance to do that if they beat the Jets this week. It should be a great defensive struggle all game.
Next Game: Jets (5-1)
10. Baltimore Ravens (5-2) Last Week: NA
The Ravens have a solid offense and the most talented defense in the league with Kirk Morrison, Terrell Suggs, Kieth Bulluck, Ed Reed and more. This defensive unit has the capabilty to shut any offense down.
Next Game: Bills (2-5)

Week 5 Power Rankings (Top 10)

The BDML Top 10 Power Rankings – Week 5 Edition – Your team may be here now but to stay in the top 10 you will need to win and in the BDML any team can win on any given Sunday so good luck guys.

The BDML Top 10
1. Tennessee Titans (4-1) Last Week: N/A
If it wasn’t for a last second field goal by Broncos’ kicker Matt Prater, then the Titans would still be undefeated. Their defense ranks second in points allowed only 84 in five games AND they also have the highest scoring offense at 189 points, so as of right now the Titans are most definitely the team to beat.
Next Game: Bye week
2. New York Jets (4-0) Last Week: N/A
The Jets are still undefeated and although they rank third behind the Titans in points allowed, they have the most sacks at 18. Blitz is the name of the game for the Jets and right now it’s scaring quarterbacks to death.
Next Game: Ravens (3-2)
3. New Orleans Saints (4-1) Last Week: N/A
With 4 wins in a row and the league’s 4th highest scoring offense, the “WHO DAT” nation is looking like they can give the defending NFC champion Seahawks a run for their money.
Next Game: Falcons (0-5)
4. Dallas Cowboys (4-0) Last Week: N/A
The Cowboys are the only undefeated team alongside the Jets at 4-0, couple that with the league’s 5th best defense in points allowed and you got a team that can beat anybody. Can this be the year that Dallas ends their playoff woes?
Next Game: Bye week
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) Last Week: N/A
With 4 wins in a row and the most intimidating defense in the NFL, the sky is the limit for the Steelers. After all, who wants to go to Blitzburgh and face the “Terrible Towel?” exactly, no one does.
Next Game: Browns (1-3)
6. Seattle Seahawks (4-1) Last Week: N/A
The defending NFC champions’ loss to the horrible Rams (1-4) have critics doubting them, but IF the Seahawks re-group then they can very well move back to the top 3. But the question right now is “Are the Seahawks going through a Super Bowl hangover?” We will find out a lot more about the Seahawks next week when they go up against the Packers.
Next Game: Packers (4-1)
7. Green Bay Packers (4-1) Last Week: N/A
The Packers have the league’s third highest scoring offense but allowing a whopping 155 points in 5 games keeps them from being higher on the list. Can Aaron Rodgers finally make the cheeseheads forget about Favre? no, he cant.
Next Game: Seahawks (4-1)
8. Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) Last Week: N/A
The Chiefs enter the rankings for the first time this season after they rout the 49ers by a score of 49-17. With a cocky head coach and young QB in Matt Cassel leading the league in nearly every passing category, can the Chiefs live up to coach Jukster’s words and bring the “glory days” back to Kansas City? We will see if this team is for real when they play their hated division rival Broncos next week.
Next Game: Broncos (3-2)
9. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) Last Week: NA
The Eagles have rebounded well after losing to the hated Cowboys in a heartbreaker in week 1 by winning 3 games in a row. The Eagles have arguably the most explosive offense in the league with players like Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, so the Eagles have the ability to beat anyone.
Next Game: Bears (0-5)
10. New England Patriots (3-1) Last Week: NA
The Patriots sport the best defense in the league at only 62 points allowed in 4 games. With Brady at the helm and a great defense, we have the same team that has won 3 super bowls and they look to add another one to their dynasty.
Next Game: Bengals (1-3)

6. Baltimore Ravens(1-0) Last Week: 7

  Next Game: Dolphins (1-0)

7. Denver Broncos (1-0) Last Week: 10

9. New York Jets (1-0) Last Week: NA
The New York Jets knocked off the New England patriots week 1 by defeating them handedly 30-17. They will face the much improved Bengals this week though so we will hold off moving them up the rankings too much until after that game.
  Next Game: Bengals (1-0)

  10. Tennessee Titans (1-0) Last Week: NA
The Titans have stormed into the Rankings after a 31-0 beat down of the Indianapolis Colts to open the season. This team has everything and could be moving up the rankings over the next few weeks.
