All Coach SilverwingSMV wanted in his first week as the new head coach of the Packers, was a win.

Aaron Rodgers and company would deliver in a 34-27 win over the Jets at Lambeau Field.

Rodgers went 17 of 21 for 297 yards, with 4 TD throws and 1 interception. But perhaps his biggest completion of the day was a 68 yard strike to Greg Jennings to put pack up for good with 1:03 left. Rodgers was brave to throw into one on one coverage by Darrell Revis, but Jennings was able to make the catch, evade Revis’ tackle, then head down the sidelines for the winning score. Jennings ended the day with 3 catches for 127 yards.

The Packer’s run game was also efficiently led by rookie Joey Keller, who ran for 104 yards, taking some carries away from starter Ryan Grant who gained only 50 yards. Keller had an electrifying 66 yard dash in the 1st quarter, which would lead to a 11 yard receiving touchdown for the rookie halfback.

“I just wanted to come out and give my team all I had today. The line picked up blocks perfectly and I made plays when I had to. Hopefully, they feel more confident to look my way in the future.” Keller said in a post-game interview. It was the rookie’s first 100+ yard game in the NFL.

The loss was tough for the Jets, as Mark Sanchez also played a great game. He finished the day going 21 of 30 for 319 yards and 2 TD’s. His favorite target was clearly Terrell Owens who finished with 7 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Many who watched the game wondered if time simply ran out on the Jets. After the score by Greg Jennings, the Jets would march downfield well in only 53 seconds, only to run out of time at the Packers 8 yard line.

To the Jets, this a tale of one that simply slipped away.

Editor’s Note: Truly great game played by SMXtreme. Classy guy, played sim, and it was a close close match from start to finish. Hope to play him again and play many more similar games in this league.
